Missa de dulcissimo Nomine Jesu*

Introit: V./ Ps 134:3
Collect:

Deus, qui gloriosissimum Nomen Jesu Christi, unigeniti Filii tui Domini nostri, fecisti fidelibus tuis sanctissimae suavitatis affectu amabile, et malignis spiritibus tremendum atque terribile: concede propitius; ut omnes qui Nomen Jesu devote venerantur in terris, sanctae consolationis dulcedinem in praesenti percipiant, et in futuro gaudium exsultationis et interminabilis beatitudinis obtineant in caelis. Per Dominum.

O God, who hast made the most glorious Name of Jesus Christ, thine only-begotten Son, Our Lord lovable and most sweet to thy faithful and dreadful and terrible to wicked spirits: graciously grant; that all who devoutly venerate the Name of Jesus on earth, may presently feel the sweetness of holy consolation, and in the future obtain the joy of exaltation and unending blessedness in heaven. Through our Lord.

Gradual: Eph 1:20-22; V./ Ps 87 78:9;
Alleluia:

Dulce Nomen Domini nostri, Jesu Christi, melos auri, mel in esu: cordis verum jubilum fugat mundi sibilum.

Sweet Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, melody to the ear, as eating honey: true song of the heart which drives out the din of the world.

Tract: Eccl. jubilatio

Dulce Nomen Jesu Christi omnen auferens tristitiam, jucundas mentem jubilo. Tollit luctum, affert fructum, et obductum et seductum purgat cor a nubilo. Nos defendit, nos accendit, nos intendit, et extendit Nomen hoc gaudium.

Gospel: Mt 1:20-23
Offertory: Mk 16:17-18
Secret:

In veneratione Nominis dilecti Filii tui, Domini nostri Jesu Christi, tibi, Deus, Pater misericordiarum, devotis mentibus, hostias immolamus: suppliciter, deprecantes; ut, earum virtute, cunctis gentibus, praestetur auxilium, et, in eodem Nomine delectantes, salutarem sui propositi consequantur effectum. Per eumdem Dominum.

Communion: Apoc 2:17
Post-Communion:

Sacrosancta mysteria, quae sumpsimus, Domine, in honorem Nominis complacentissimi Filii tui, Domine nostri Jesu Christi, devotis praecordiis recolentes: quaesumus; ut incrementa nobis spiritualis exsultationis accumulent, et affectum nostrum ad hoc salutiferum Nomen Jesu nobis imprimendum accendant, et ad jubilandum in Jesu, Salutari nostro dulcissimo, tota mentis attentione promoveant. Per eumdem Dominum.

* This Mass is different than that of the feast Sanctissimi Nominis Jesu, which is the same both in the Bragan and Roman books.
