In Nativitate Domini

First Mass:

Contrary to the Roman missal there are two Epistle readings: Is. 9:2-7 e Tit. 2:11-15

The rubrics allow for an alternative to the Ite, Missa est dismissal at the end of the Mass; this alternative will then be used for the whole Octave, until the Circumcision. This alternative is the Verbum Patris hodie:

Verbum Patris hodie processit ex Virgine; virtutes angelicae cum canoro iubilo benedicunt Domino.
R/ Pacem nobis omnibus nuntiavit Angelus, refulsit pastoribus veri solis claritatis, reddeunt Deo gratias.

*The Word of the Father this day comes forth from a Virgin; the angelic powers with jubilant song bless the Lord..
R/ The angel announced peace to us all; light as of the sun shone on the shepherds. Give thanks to God.

verbum patris 1

verbum patris 2

Second Mass:

This Mass gives us once again two Epistle readings: Is. 61:1-3; 62:11-12 e Tit. 3:4-7.

Third Mass:

Yet again, two Epistle readings: Is. 52:6-10 e Heb. 1:1-12
